PRACTICAL GUIDES

Make the most of your next gathering.

Start with an actual task: explain the scoring, divide seventeen people into groups, or test your TV before guests arrive. These guides include worked examples and the limits to plan around.

Run a Friends Showdown game

Open Friends Showdown on the host device. The host creates or selects questions, opens a game, and shares its join code with players. Players use their phones to join; the audience board is designed to be shown on a larger screen. The host controls reveals, scores and the game stage. If you want to browse games first, use the game catalogue. The game is in alpha, so try the host and audience screens before an event.

Record a workout

Open the fitness tracker and sign in to reach your private Today screen. Confirm your settings and daily check-in before accepting a suggested workout. Log actual sets, reps, loads or cardio duration during the session; History holds previous entries and measurements. The tracker supports general planning and recordkeeping, not medical diagnosis. If you have concerning symptoms, use its safety guidance and seek appropriate care rather than treating a suggested session as clearance to exercise.

Explore a budget

Open the budget planner and sign in before entering personal figures. Add recurring income, bills and debts using their actual dates and frequencies. Review the cash-flow view before choosing an extra debt payment: a monthly surplus can still hide a shortfall before payday. Suggestions are planning aids based on the details you provide, so compare them with your own statements and obligations before acting.

See workout-day consistency

Fitdays is a public quick-glance view of recorded workout days. It is for sharing dates or counts, not private exercise details, weights or health records. Use the signed-in fitness tracker when you need to review or correct a workout.

Make random groups

Open Grouper, paste one participant per line, and choose a group count or maximum size. Uncheck anyone sitting out, then review any repeated names before drawing. You can name groups, shuffle again, copy or print the result. This tool runs in your browser without an account and does not upload or save names.

Play Bible Blitz

Open Bible Blitz and choose Party mode for spoken answers on one device, Host + big screen for a separate display, Play online for phone buzzers and typed answers, or Solo challenge. No account is required. The host sets teams, categories, difficulty, rounds and timer. Online players join with a room code or QR link and choose their team before the host starts; new players cannot join mid-game. Keep the host tab open; online rooms last up to six hours, expire after an hour without room activity, and may end when the server restarts. Solo personal bests are saved in your browser.

To cast, choose Host + big screen, create a game and select Cast to TV in Chrome on a computer or Android. Your Chromecast or Google Cast TV must be on the same Wi-Fi. The TV displays the board while your device keeps the host controls; sounds play on the host device. On iPhone or iPad, use Control Center → Screen Mirroring with an Apple TV or AirPlay-compatible TV. For a board without host controls, mirror the big-screen view from a separate device.

After creating a game, open Host Control Center to preview answers privately, reorder upcoming words or rounds, replace words and edit team names and colors. Open TV Presentation Studio to preview themes, backgrounds, larger text, announcements and winner messages, then choose Apply to TV. Changes appear on connected displays; draft edits stay on the host.

Compare electricity bills

Open Hydro Compare. No sign-in is required. Download your billing export from the Hydro Ottawa Green Button service and choose Import bills, or use CSV/manual entry. Review dates, kWh and reported totals against your PDF bills before saving. Switch dashboard layouts at the top, then compare total cost, electricity use, daily cost or effective cost per kWh. Browser-only imports stay on that device; export a CSV backup before clearing browser data or changing devices. Optional private cross-device copies require sign-in and an explicit save. Other providers can use CAD CSV/manual records; their XML exports may need compatibility checks.

Play Pair Play

Open Pair Play and choose Solo challenge or Two players, then Easy, Medium or Hard. Flip two cards at a time: a match stays face up, while a miss turns back over. In two-player mode, a match earns a point and another turn; a miss passes the turn. Use Tab or arrow keys to move between cards, then Enter or Space to flip. Solo games can be paused once a pair has resolved. New game, changing difficulty or changing mode starts a fresh board. No sign-in is required; solo best moves and times stay in this browser.

Use Remote Desk

Remote Desk is a private workspace for sending tasks to a Codex worker on your PC and reviewing progress. A private access key is required, and the computer must remain online. Keep the access key and task details private.
